Priyanka Chopra is getting candid about being a mom. In a new interview with People, the actress opened up about the challenging side of motherhood and how she's constantly fearful of making mistakes while raising her 21-month-old daughter Malti Marie, whom she shares with husband Nick Jonas.

When asked how often she feels overwhelmed as a mom, Chopra replied: "I think every day." She continued, "I think when you put them to bed, it’s extremely overwhelming because every single day you worry about what you can do wrong and what mistake you might make. But you have to check yourself, and I check myself with my family.”

Chopra went on to explain that despite her fear, she still finds motherhood to be full of rewarding moments. "I look at [my daughter's] smile, and I'm like, 'Okay, okay. I'm doing good so far,'" she said. "It's the greatest thing I’ve ever done, but it's extremely scary."

Since welcoming Malti, Priyanka also noted that she's become "more sensitive and fragile," noting those are two emotions she didn't anticipate. "It's made me a tad more sensitive and fragile, I think, and it makes me nervous a little bit," she explained, adding: "I didn't expect that."

Priyanka's anxiety is perhaps more amplified than the average mother given her daughter's unpredictable health in the early days of her life. After a 110-day stay in the NICU, Priyanka was finally able to bring her baby home, which brought on a whole new level of fear.

“[In the NICU], you know your child is alive because you can see their heartbeat [on the monitor]. I couldn’t sleep for days because now suddenly she was home without a monitor,” she explained while speaking with Today back in April. “I used to put my ear on her chest. I would wake up every couple of minutes just to see if she was OK. For weeks, this went on."
