Dressed in a bright red polo, the duchess chatted with staff about how they've continued and adapted their treatments during the coronavirus lockdown.
The center is run by the organization Action on Addiction, which has been one of Duchess Kate's royal patronages since 2012. During the call, she received a tour of the facility, Clouds House, and discussed the importance of addiction treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic. She later joined a group chat of clients receiving help from the center.

Kate also learned of a recent poll that showed a resurgence of addictive behaviors as a result of the isolation and time indoors during coronavirus. According to the survey, 39 percent of respondents who identified as being in recovery prior to lockdown (4 percent of all participants) reported "either a recurrence in addictive behaviour or a relapse in their recovery."
